Vote YES on AA to repair aging La Mesa-Spring Valley schools WITHOUT INCREASING TAX RATES.

Our children need safe and up-to-date school buildings — not leaky roofs, failing pipes, outdated electrical systems, and school buildings with temperatures above 90 degrees. While our schools are well maintained, most local schools were built more than 60 years ago and need urgent repairs and upgrades.

Voting YES on AA repairs and upgrades our elementary and middle schools WITHOUT INCREASING TAX RATES. Measure AA simply extends the current tax rate previously approved by voters without an increase.

This fiscally responsible plan upgrades our schools before the repairs become more expensive. Voting YES also helps our schools qualify for up to $61,000,000 in state matching funds that will otherwise go to schools in other communities. That’s why the San Diego County Taxpayers Association endorses Measure AA.

Remove hazardous materials like asbestos and lead pipes and improve access for students with disabilities

Upgrade school buildings, labs, technology, and multipurpose rooms for math, science, reading, writing, arts, and music

Measure AA requires strict fiscal accountability protections to ensure all funds stay local and are spent as promised, including:

An independent oversight committee and annual audits

No funds could be used for employee salaries other than those directly related to the implementation of the District’s bond program

Whether or not you have school-age children, strong schools protect home values, strengthen neighborhoods, and improve quality of life for students, families, and the entire community.
